Field notebook template

My current notebook columns, for anyone who asked in PM:

date / time / water type / estimated distance / animal count / hoof position / duration / behavior / weather / photo numbers / what I could not see.

I leave three blank lines under return path because that is where the useful mess usually happens.

Suggestions welcome. Please do not turn this into a pen brand thread again.

Add 'who else was present' if possible. Second witness names can stay private, but knowing a second person existed changes how I read the file.

I also write 'smell' and yes everyone laughed until the algae bloom thread. Some details are stupid right up until they aren't.
