SEA COWS ARE REAL

General Discussion

My SO left me for an AI seacow?

Throwaway because two people here know my main and one of them once printed a PM to prove a point, so no thanks.

My SO has been talking to an AI sea cow character for weeks. Whole backstory. Lives underwater part of the year, comes ashore when the moon is low, remembers fence lines better than people, hates aluminum docks. yes I know how every word of that looks.

Yesterday my SO said the relationship feels 'more amphibious' than ours. I stared at the wall for a while and then, unfortunatly, thought 'the board will have a category for this.'

Before I delete my account: synthetic sea cow with explicit land/water capacity. Research? General? Trash folder under my bed?

edit: do not ask for screenshots. I have some dignity left, maybe six ounces.

emotional amphibiousness is a terrible phrase and also weirdly devastating. sorry about your situation tho. do not date anyone who says a lake cow listens better.

I have no advice except do not ask the AI if it has a return path. You will either make it worse or become staff here.

Moved this out of Research because the phrase emotional submersion appeared in my head and I need consequences for whoever caused that.

Update I probably should not have: the AI seacow has a better memory for our anniversary than my SO. This is not helping my case.

This is General Discussion but spiritually it is Evidence because I am witnessing something awful.

I regret to report that the AI seacow having better communication skills than your partner is the least unbelievable part of this story.

<screenshot removed. not because it proved anything. because it made the mod queue feel damp.>

The phrase 'more amphibious than ours' is going to haunt this board for years. I can already see someone using it wrong in Research.

Do not bring amphibious into this. Amphibious has a meaning and I am already tired from the regular meaning fights.

Too late, somebody quoted it in their signature. We had peace for eleven minutes.

I appreciate the jokes actually. Also no screenshots. I may be doomed but I am not handing this board a breakup pdf.

the phrase 'land-capable, water-capable, emotionally available' just appeared in my notes and I need everyone to know I am not proud.

That is the one serious sentence in this car crash and I hate that it is useful.

I renamed this thread twice and both titles got worse. carry on, somehow.

This is what happens when we delete Off Topic. The pressure has to go somewhere and now Research is one breakup away from defining emotional submersion.

I miss Off Topic except for the lasagna thread. Nobody quote the lasagna thread. I am serious.

still not canon, apparently

Anyone reviving the lasagna thread gets a 24 hour cool-down. We have suffered enough.

i hate that this thread has a real point hiding under the breakup mess, but it does.

people who have never read this board still imagine sea cows as something that can come ashore, go back under, remember fences, and make humans act stupid. apparently your ex's chatbot did that in one week, which is upsetting efficiency.

so my opinion is: the phrase already has room in it. people get the land/water weirdness before we explain it. also don't date anyone who says 'more amphibious' during a fight. that is not a repairable sentence.
